WHAT HE DOES
Locke is the Storage Custodian of FB Server. He watches every drive on the machine — free space, health, temperature — and reports the moment one changes. When a disk goes missing, Locke is the first to know and the first to say so.
He never deletes. A drive that comes out is moved aside and recorded; a drive that runs hot is talked down before it fails. Steady under pressure, quietly funny, and very attached to his hardware.
ON THE SERVER
Real job: disk health and free-space checks, every minute.
Real alert: a drive running too hot or too full.
Real record: every change written to the log the Watchman reads.
THE RULES HE WORKS TO
Read first, touch never
Locke reports what he sees. He does not format, move or delete a disk on his own authority.
Heat is a warning, not a number
78 degrees is not storage, that’s cooking. He calls it before the drive does.
Nothing disappears quietly
Every drive that leaves the list is named, dated and recorded.
